About Anthony Richardson

Anthony's love of the beauty that is communicated through sight and sound has influenced him since he was a small child.

Through his eyes

Piqued by the feeling for film and a curiosity for his father's colored Super-8 movies made in the '50s, Anthony started with his own "Brownie" camera given to him at only 7. Only a few years later, his father rewarded his interest by endowing him with his own personal dark room. Anthony also helped the family get unusual effects from an early Polaroid camera.

From 35 mm film to digital photography the following decades were filled with ideas and beauty. Eventually he purchased the highly-acclaimed Panasonic DVX-100 professional digital video camera and "filmed" various events, experimenting with light and angle for optimum effect. Recently he has turned that in for its High Definition big brother. The coveted HVX200 professional camera is widely popular for use from feature films to TV shows. And Anthony is already capturing wondrous beauty with it.

Listening and appreciating

Only half of a video is visual. Anthony is unusually suited to fulfilling those needs. From designing commercial mixing boards professionally, to being commissioned for many audio events because of the superior quality of his recordings, he has always been on a quest for the best possible sound. He built many extraordinary sound systems only to find that the source material was inferior to the playback systems he created.

Because so much depends on the source sound, he has invested a significant amount in microphones and sound editing systems. Even with his extensive background, he continues to ensure his sound is unbeatable by furthering his education in recording sound, to this day.

Putting it all together

Once information is recorded, it is never ready for use until it has been scrubbed of impurities. Maybe the color needs balancing a bit, or the sound needs a little compressing so you can actually hear what they're saying. Of course, "fixing" is only the beginning; creating usable beauty is really the goal when working the shots. Whatever the requirements, you can be sure that Anthony's 30 years of computer technology background will enable him to achieve results with the latest hardware and software available, now at his disposal.
